This major department store has had a long and beautiful history, but when their ecommerce sight and omnichannel catalog began to increase and face extremely heavy traffic, it needed a program that was much more flexible and stronger than just a relational database.

What they were looking for

After pinpointing the details, it was time to understand what “done” fully looked like for the entire store team.

With a quickly growing omnichannel market, the biggest concern was with the customer experience. Following right behind customer experience, the large department chain also wanted to add in real-time updates on store and inventory across multiple channels.

The store’s rapidly growing ecommerce business also meant that they also needed to handle 10 times the amount of products than in previous years. Simply put, Macy’s database could not keep yp with the spike in growth.
